Live Foyn Friis from Asker has studied the old jazz singers since childhood. She has especially incorporated many songs from the repertoire of the great Sarah Vaughan into her own band. She was nominated for the Danish Grammy Awards with her four albums in the categories of Best Vocal Jazz Album and Best Special Release.
She won the title of Young Jazz Composer of the Year and was consequently named Denmark's new jazz star! Live Foyn Friis now lives in Norway.
About the Concert House's Jazz Café:
Selected Saturdays the Jazz Café is organized in our bright and airy glass house that “hovers” over Munkedamsveien. Here you’ll have the opportunity to experience various bands, in a smaller, intimate format, along with a number of exciting vocalists and musicians from various genres within jazz. At the same time, you can enjoy food and drink in pleasant company with other jazz lovers. Doors open at 13:00, the bands play from 14:00 to around 16:00 including a break.

Tables and chairs with unnumbered seating. You can purchase a selection of sandwiches, pastries, and cake from the bar. We aim to reduce food waste, which is why there is a limited selection and number. It may happen that some food offerings will be sold out before the concert starts.
The Jazz Café is a collaboration between New Orleans Workshop Jazz Club and Oslo Concert Hall AS.
