Fans of crime fiction from all over the world have devoured Jo Nesbø's famous novels about the detective Harry Hole, and many of them long to experience the city where so much of the books' plot takes place.
Harry is the main character of the series about Harry Hole, naturally. But another very important character is the city of Oslo.
With the 2026 Netflix series, mainly based on the fifth Harry Hole book, The Devil's Star, Oslo is getting an even more prominent role in the Harry Hole universe. You can now explore both series and book locations, and follow the legendary detective's footsteps through Oslo. You might, however, be disappointed that Oslo is not quite as dark and Gotham-esque as Harry's fictional Oslo.
In this series, Oslo is created as a "plus 10%" version of itself. So it's tweaked. What is a little dirty in Oslo is made 10% more dirty. The glossy parts are also tweaked up.

A series made by Oslo enthusiasts
It's no wonder that Oslo gets such a prominent role in a series made possible by people who are so passionate about the city.
There is no city that I love as much as Oslo.
The Vigeland park is one of my favourite places. And I think the entire area surrounding Torshovdalen is amazing.
Oslo is becoming a more delightful and beautiful city with each passing year.
