Hadeland Glassverk

Set in beautiful surroundings just one hour from Oslo, Hadeland Glassverk is one of Norway’s most visited tourist attractions and a vibrant visitor destination with roots dating back to 1762. Here, Norwegian craftsmanship, design, art, shopping and food experiences come together in historic surroundings by Randsfjorden.

Hadeland Glassverk is Norway’s oldest industrial company still in continuous operation, and glass is still produced locally by some of the world’s leading glassblowers and glass cutters. In the Glassworks Studio, visitors can watch the craftsmanship up close, and during much of the year you can even try blowing your own glass.

The area offers experiences for the whole family. During the summer holidays, children can visit the farm park, take part in creative activities such as glass mosaics and candle dipping, explore large play areas and join seasonal workshops with painting, beadwork and crafts.

Nearby, you will also find Randsfjord Badepark with floating activities, a bathing jetty and a shallow sandy beach.

For those interested in art and culture, Hadeland Glassverk features changing exhibitions, a three-storey museum and galleries showcasing Norwegian art, design and craftsmanship.

Art Splash is Hadeland Glassverk’s new creative workshop. A welcoming and inspiring meeting place where both children and adults can explore the joy of creativity through activities such as painting on ceramics and canvas, decorating silk scarves and jigsaw puzzles, jewellery making, glass mosaics, and much more. Here, you can unwind, be creative, and create unique memories together with family, friends, or colleagues – with no prior experience required.

The site is home to 12 shops and up to 6 places to eat during the high season, ranging from bakeries and cafés to pizza and traditional Norwegian food. Many visitors also come for the wide selection of handmade lamps, interior design products and factory outlet bargains.

If you would like to stay overnight, Thorbjørnrud Hotel is located just across the road, alongside glamping options by the fjord.

Updated opening hours and information about activities, shops, the museum and dining options can be found at hadeland.com.

During the summer season, an express coach runs directly from Oslo to Jevnaker and Hadeland Glassverk several days a week. Tickets must be booked in advance.
