The ground opened in 1918 and is the home venue of the sports club Ready. It served as the home ground of the Norwegian national football team from 1919 until the 1927–28 season, when Ullevaal Stadium took over.
During winter, the ground is converted into an artificial ice rink used for bandy and other sports.
