Armed Forces Museum

Oslo's Armed Forces Museum is a military museum with exhibits that take you through Norwegian military history from the Viking Age until the 21st century. The museum is beautifully situated on the grounds of Akershus Fortress, right in the city centre.



The exhibitions include a wide selection of unique artefacts, and give you interesting insights into Norway's extensive military history. Throughout the year, the museum also offers a varied selection of activities and events for both children and adults.

Akershus Fortess is a great place to get acquainted with the history of Oslo, or simply go for a stroll in picturesque historic surroundings. It's in close vicinity to other major sights in Oslo, such as the Oslo City Hall, the Nobel Peace Centre and the historic Kvadraturen area.
