Communication and marketing

VisitOSLO's marketing department is responsible for marketing Oslo as a travel destination. The department's overarching goal is to increase Oslo's digital footprint and strengthen the city and the region as an attractive destination. The department runs the website visitoslo.com with inspiring and informative content such as thematic articles and suggestion lists for users that are planning a visit to the capital of Norway. Visitoslo.com has an event calendar that contains the city's cultural events. The website is available in four languages.

The marketing department also handles media enquiries from both national and international media; facilitates press visits and pitches the destination to the international media.

In addition, the department runs VisitOSLO's profiles in a wide range of social media channels with a large amounts of followers from all over the world. From time to time, the department creates larger creative concepts to reach specific audiences, often collaborating with Innovation Norway and the regional destination company VisitOSLOregion.

Oslo Convention Bureau

Oslo Convention Bureau's main mission is to find, motivate and help Norwegian research environments, institutions and organisations to host international conferences. The department works purposefully to promote Oslo as an attractive and sustainable destination for meetings and congresses to the international B2B market, and works closely with Innovation Norway on this matter.

Oslo Convention Bureau prioritises to participate in relevant international arenas, close to international research environments within the congress market, as well as potential buyers within the meetings and incentives market.

Oslo Convention Bureau advises organisers throughout the planning phase, from the first step and up until the event takes place.

The department also works with promoting Oslo to international tour operators in a collaboration with the destinations in VisitOsloRegion – such as attending to Norwegian Travel Workshop (NTW).

Ambassador programme

Oslo Convention Bureau has established an ambassador programme and a network that consists of key people within various research fields in Oslo. The goal is to promote their subject to an international audience by organising a conference.

Hospitality Services

Hospitality Services operates Oslo Visitor Centre, the city's sole official tourist information centre. The information centre is serviced by people proficient in many languages, with great knowledge of the city and its offerings. Next to providing information, Oslo Visitor Centre is also a sales point for a wide range of products, including the Oslo Pass. The Visitor Centre also hosts the call centre, as well as answering enquiries through email. Oslo Visitor Centre is operated by VisitOSLO and co-funded by Oslo&Co.

Hospitality Services is also responsible for VisitOSLO's partner network, including recruitment and follow-up of new partners. The department ensures that the overall strategy for how VisitOSLO works with partners is up to par and implemented throughout the organisation.

Oslo Pass

Oslo Pass is owned by the participants of the pass, however managed and administered by VisitOSLO. Businesses who wish to join the Oslo Pass must apply by 1 May for the following year. All applications must be approved by the Oslo Pass board. For more information, contact the Oslo Pass department.

Oslo Cruise Partners

Oslo Cruise Partners is a dedicated cruise network working with product development, organising and promoting exciting experiences for the city's visitors by sea. For more information about participation, contact the project manager Eva Britt Kornfeldt.

Finance

The Finance department works to ensure sustainable management of VisitOSLO's funds. The department assists VisitOSLO's other departments and accomodates partners regarding questions relating to invoices.

The Finance department is also responisble for preparing and delivering relevant statistics and analysis to the other departments in VisitOSLO.
