Cheap restaurants and cafés

Published: 03.07.2026 · Updated: 03.07.2026

Please note that the price of drinks is not taken into account, and that alcoholic beverages are more expensive in Norway than other places due to excise taxes. We recommend enjoying some tap water with your meal – it is completely free and tastes delicious.

There are several more reasonably priced restaurants than the ones we list here. If you're looking for a cheap meal, we recommend the streets Grønlandsleiret and Torggata in particular. You'll also find plenty of take-away options like kebab and burgers in most parts of the city.

Enjoy!
