"But have you tried yoga?" - a stand-up show about slipping on ice // SOLD OUT
You know when life hits you in the face? Like really hits you in the face. Like all-your-plans-you've-ever-had-need-to-be-changed-and-switched-up-in-the-face?
It could be the boyfriend who didn't want to be a boyfriend anymore or the car that ended up in the ditch. Or maybe the job you lost, the child you never had, or the illness that can’t be cured.
For Helene, it was a little misstep on the ice that turned everything upside down. She hit her head right on the ground and lay there for a millisecond before she got up and thought: "It'll probably be fine." Spoiler: It wasn't.
In this honest and funny show, Helene uses her own story to make you laugh about the things we usually don't talk about until we've gotten through them. With a good dose of self-irony, she takes you on the journey from "I’m sure I’ll be completely fine tomorrow" to "healing seems like a great idea." In a surprising and light-hearted way, she finds humor in the chase for a solution and in learning to live with everything that didn't happen.
For what are you really supposed to do when you suddenly find yourself in a life crisis and all you have to rely on is a sea of well-meaning but terrible advice?
"But have you tried yoga?" is a standup show for everyone who has stumbled through life – and is still trying to get back up with (almost) their dignity intact.
Helene Holtskog is a comedian, chronicler, and woman. In that order. She regularly takes the stage at several of the country's biggest comedy venues like Latter and Nieu. You may have seen her on tour with Sigrid Bonde Tusvik and Lisa Tønne or in season 4 of Latter Live on NRK. "But have you tried yoga?" is her first solo show.
