Sacred Sound GongBad/meditative concert

Welcome to a concert with resting pulse - a lovely musical and meditative experience in Oslo's best-kept secret; Emanuel Vigeland Museum in Ris.

The museum is known for its beautiful frescoes (wall paintings) that depict human life from conception to death and not least its unique acoustics, with about 20 seconds of reverberation. The overtones of the gongs truly unfold, and you will experience being enveloped by the beautiful tones. Gong Master Anne Siri begins by singing the Gayatri mantra and conjures intuitive song from the heart.

Everything is framed by the clear and bright overtones of the crystal bowls, Indian singing bowls, glockenspiel, and drum. The powerful vibrations of the gongs take you beyond thoughts and into a meditative state where physical and emotional blockages can dissolve and the body’s self-healing system can function optimally. Most experience that time and space disappear, that the body is reset and recharged, a deep form of relaxation and meditation. Afterwards, you are filled with joy, harmony, presence, and peace.

The concert is meditative, and you can choose whether to lie down or sit during the concert. Bring warm clothes and a mat, sleeping bag, or warm blankets. Due to the preservation of the frescoes, the mausoleum is only 14 degrees and it gets cold to sit/lie still for 60 mins.

I recommend that you arrive in good time, at least 15 minutes before the concert starts, so you have time to enjoy the sight of the frescoes and arrange your space. The doors open 30 minutes before start, and we start precisely. It is not possible to enter after the concert has started. Duration 60 min., no break. Not recommended for children under 12 years.

The museum is not built for wheelchair users, but the steps outside the museum are low and with a little help, it usually goes well to get inside. The door to the actual mausoleum is narrow, 62 cm wide, 152 cm high, and 50 cm deep. Some wheelchairs are therefore too wide to enter. Inside the mausoleum, there is a large and flat floor without high thresholds or steps.
