Akerselva – A Museum Through the City - Audioguide - by Guide To Go
Akerselva is well worth exploring. Whether you take a short stroll along parts of the river or set aside a few hours to walk the full stretch of over 8 kilometers through the city, you’ll enjoy nature, gain new perspectives, and experience Oslo at its very core.
This audio guide (Norwegian only), featuring images and text, was developed by the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology and Oslo Museum – The Labour Museum, with support from the Arts Council Norway. It was relaunched in 2020 in collaboration with Guide To Go AS, in the Guide To Go – Official app.
The stories are narrated by Ingrid Vollan and Duc Mai-The, providing an authentic and engaging storytelling experience along the river.
As you follow Akerselva, you can listen, read, and experience our shared history. In a European context, this industrial landscape is truly unique and highly valuable. Akerselva is the only classic industrial river that flows through an entire capital city—from source to mouth—within the city limits.
Along the way, you move through a continuous cultural heritage landscape—an open-air museum through the city—where nature, industry, and human life come together. We hope both visitors and locals will discover and appreciate this unique part of Oslo’s history.
Enjoy your walk!
