Camping at Langøyene island

Free camping at Langøyene – the only island in the innermost Oslo Fjord where tenting is allowed. You can camp on the island for up to a whole week as long as you follow the rules stipulated by the Municipality of Oslo.
The most important rules:

- You can camp on Langøyene for maximum two days.
- Visitors must take all their belongings and leave Langøyene after a stay of 2 days.
- After 24 hours away from the island, you may return and stay overnight for another 2 days.
- Camping is only allowed in the dedicated camping areas on the North side of the Island.
- Keep your camp tidy, and do not litter or harm the nature.
- You are not allowed to "privatise" your camp with equipment that shuts people out.
- The camp shall be quiet between 11 pm and 7 am
- Do not disturb other people.
- You are not allowed to light fires.
- Due to fire safety precautions there should be a distance of at least three metres between the tents.
- You must abide by any written or oral instructions from the Municipality of Oslo. Representatives from the Municipality are allowed to remove items that litter, disturb or shut others out.

Note: Do NOT miss the last ferry back from the islands to the city centre! There is no water taxi service available in Oslo. The Norwegian Society for Sea’s main purpose is to save lives at sea and help people in need. The same goes for the police and fire department: they are NOT transportation services. On rare occasions, the Norwegian Society for Sea Rescue can transport people back to the city centre but the fee for this journey will be a minimum of 5.000 NOK.
