Hadeland Glassverk

Hadeland Glassverk is located in beautiful surroundings just an hour from Oslo and is one of Norway’s most visited tourist attractions and a lively destination with roots dating back to 1762. Here, Norwegian craftsmanship, design, art, shopping, and culinary experiences come together in historic surroundings by the Randsfjord.

Hadeland Glassverk is Norway’s oldest industrial enterprise still in continuous operation, and glass is still produced locally by some of the world’s leading glassblowers and glass cutters. In the Glassworks’ studio, visitors can see the craftsmanship up close, and for much of the year, you can even try your hand at blowing your own glass.

The area offers experiences for the whole family. During summer vacation, children can visit the farm park, participate in creative activities such as glass mosaic and candle dipping, explore large play areas, and take part in seasonal workshops featuring painting, beadwork, and crafts.

Nearby, you’ll also find Randsfjord Badepark, which features water activities, a swimming platform, and a shallow sandy beach.

For those interested in art and culture, Hadeland Glassverk offers rotating exhibitions, a three-story museum, and galleries showcasing Norwegian art, design, and crafts.

Art Splash is Hadeland Glassverk’s new creative workshop. It’s a welcoming and inspiring gathering place where both children and adults can explore the joy of creativity through activities such as painting on ceramics and canvas, decorating silk scarves and puzzles, jewelry making, glass mosaics, and much more. Here you can relax, be creative, and create unique memories with family, friends, or colleagues—no prior experience required.

The complex houses 12 shops and up to 6 dining options during peak season, ranging from bakeries and cafés to pizza and traditional Norwegian cuisine. Many visitors also come for the large selection of handmade lamps, home decor items, and great deals at the factory outlet.

If you’d like to stay overnight, Thorbjørnrud Hotel is right across the street, and there are also glamping options by the fjord.

You can find updated opening hours and information about activities, shops, the museum, and dining options at hadeland.com.

Shopping
You’ll also find a wide selection of shops offering everything from glassware, lamps, porcelain, kitchenware, clothing and shoes, home decor, to exciting food and beverages.

At the lighting store, you can explore a world of exquisite lighting solutions where craftsmanship meets art. The lamps, all mouth-blown and hand-polished by skilled artisans, combine unique quality and design. With displays in various settings—from kitchens and living rooms to bedrooms and bathrooms—Hadeland invites you to discover how their lamps can transform your home.

Here you’ll also find four different dining options offering everything from fresh baked goods to authentic Italian pizza, delicious lunch and dinner dishes, and bubble waffles with ice cream.

During the summer season, an express bus runs directly from Oslo to Jevnaker and Hadeland Glassverk several days a week. Tickets must be booked in advance.
